You just happen to come from an All-American family of magicians. The Vandaleurs can trace their ancestry and their magical ability back to Atlantean times. They don't like to draw attention to themselves. You seek the higher things in life, however, and decided to become a hero. After you saved the neighborhood liquor store from armed robbers with your spells, your family feared you'd bring the Inquisition or something down on them and were preparing to ship you off to Aunt Hilda in the Alps (a terrible fate!). Then your cousin called them up. She's a superhero in the Twin Cities and was starting an Academy to train prospective young heroes! Your cousin, Leslie Armitage-Vandaleur is the hero Foxfire, but you won't even give that secret away to your classmates, so you haven't told them your real last name or your relationship to Foxfire. Your classmates seem like nice people, but you've got to pull together into a team before you'll become effective heroes.
